About the creation of the artwork "Red Bull":
The work was inspired by the original Krating Daeng drink from which the Red Bull energy drink originated.
This can be clearly seen from the golden ball in the center of the picture, which can be traced back to the golden Krating Daeng can.
The idea for drinks containing taurine came from Japan, where they were given to Japanese pilots after the Second World War to boost their performance.
The artist therefore associates the strong colors red and gold with Japan's sun emblem flag, among other things. The standard of Emperor Akihito, for example, shows a golden, 16-petalled chrysanthemum flower (in stylized form, which is shown here as a golden ball), which in turn is in the center of a red flag. The two bulls symbolize strength and endurance.
As the artist was born in Munich and has been a fan of ice hockey since his early childhood, always attending EHC Davos as a young boy, the logo of EHC Red Bull Munich, which was founded in 2012, can be seen in the top right of the picture.
"EHC Red Bull Munich has been melting the ice under the blades with its power since the very beginning. Hence the melting water under the bulls. But for me it's also the case that water is our elixir of life. Red Bull, on the other hand, is our feel-good energy elixir", said the artist in 2014 about the Red Bull work.
